Does an aluminum drive shaft improve 1/4 mile times. I relize it will be lighter. Replies from people that have experience only please. Don't tell me I heard or I would guess. Any good articles would be welcome though.

When I added one to my 2003 GT I could really tell a difference especially when you hit it from a roll.

What brand do you have, how hard was the install, and how much weight did you save?

FRPP makes the one most people use. It's a little over 6 lbs of weight savings which isn't much until you consider that it's rotating mass. It's been said that 1 lb of rotating mass is equal to nearly 15 lbs of dead weight (in terms of performance). It makes a huge difference. It's also balanced much better and it's stronger which are both good reasons to consider getting it anyway. There are others on the market but the FRPP is the cheapest considering that it's closer to the $200 range than the $500 range. Carbon fiber Driveshafts are the best but most expensive.
