Default 04 mid pipe question

I've been looking around for a catted h-pipe or possibly x pipe for my o4 gt. So far the only mods I have are a magnaflow cat back system and k&n intake. Most sites I search for have them listed up to 03 and I haven't been able to find anything for an 04. I love the sound of the exhaust and want it a lil deeper, but not obnoxious. What would most of you guys suggest/reccoment for that. I know there are a bunch of threads, but I'm too dam lazy to search for em, plus I wanna give all you slackers at work something to talk about

The main reason I'm not going with an o/r pipe is I don't want to mess with the o2 sensors and such. Also, will I still need mil eliminators if I go with the catted pipe since I'm technically getting rid of 2 other cats and 2 pre-cats?

You shouldnt need any mils if you keep the high flow cats on it. Its best if you get an O/R if your strate doesnt have emissions checks. All you do is pull the O2s out of the old pipe, put them in the new ones and plug the MILs in behind them. Its that easy.

If I were you, I would get the X pipe. I have a Magnaflow catback and an H pipe and it sounds good at idle... but as soon as I go WOT it sounds like a 1976 Dodge with Glasspacks. LOL The X pipe will make it sound much better.

Thanks for the response J. I live in Tampa so no emissions to worry about, but the cops down here are a-holes. I would also prefer to keep some sort of cats on the car so at least the dealer can't throw that in my face should there be any repair issues. The car just hit about 7k miles on it. The x pipe is going to be my next investment, then I will probrably be getting 4.10's.

Also, any suggestions on where to get the catted x pipe? I'm having a problem finding one. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. I'm also not paying the 800+ that magnaflow wants for their catted mid pipe.

Depends on when you want that deep rumble sound. I am a little biased because i own one, but i would suggest the catted Bassani X. It sounds great at WOT and is a quieter at idle than an H pipe.

I had the catted SLP X-pipe on my '04GT when I had it and I loved it.

Thanks guys so much for the info. I guess I gotta decide between bassani and slp. I think either would work for what I'm lookin for.
