You are going to need more than $300 for good cams.

a new shifter would be around 180$ and is easy as hell to install. cams could run you a lot if you go to a shop to get em done. code will probably know who to send you to for cams.

good mods to start with....well cams are def out of the question...good cams (VT) will cost you well over $1000 w/ installation.....so what "I" would is consider getting a throttle body. It's in that price range perfectly, and if you do decide to go throttle body ACCUFAB is the best in the business. Other then that I'd go with some pulleys (DONT GET PIGGYBACKS!!!) or an x-pipe.....

When You say intake do you mean Cold air intake? Besides that A good upgrade to have is getting a MSD 6A or 6AL, along with wires, dizzy and coil. Will really help your throttle response. I know that the MSD modules are on sale for cheap right now because of hollidays.

A good port and polish on that intake wouldnt be a bad Idea.
