ideas for raising car?
Alright..I am changing my tranny out tomorrow, but I have one major problem. I need to get my car up in the air about 12-15 inches in order for me to pull my tranny. The car is stuck in reverse right now so I have no way to get up on some ramps. any suggestions?

jack stands will be much better than ramps they are easier to put the car on and since they arn't as bulky they are much easier to work around.

You can get by without buying a new jack, Any hydraulic jack will work...
When the jack is fully extended, put the car on the stand.
If you need to go higher, put something under the jack(brick, whatever) then you can go that much higher.
Take your time, and be safe!
Oh, also because you have reverse you could put the back of the car on ramps and the front on jack-stands. You'd not want the ramps on the front anyway. as others have pointed out, they are difficult to work around compared to the stands...

Hell, i had mine at about 6 feet when we did the trans swap/exaust, raised up by 3 forklifts (osha come in and inspect this!)
