Default Radiator leak 96GT (I've looked thru posts)

Okay I've had a couple posts on here regarding the reason why my 96 GT keeps asking for more coolant, but has no leaks combined with a random misfire code reading is this a sign that I have a leak in a gasket?

Or can i rule this out because with all my oil changes the oil has looked very normal and performance has been the same also no leaking from my manifold. I'm stumped [sm=WTFsgign.gif]

Can someone please help me out with this?

Mine did this as well. But my manifold later cracked and had to get replaced just like every other 96 Mustang owner on this site, lol. It stopped after the swap, so IDK what to tell you, lol sry.

my coolant light pops on too, i still have the stock radiator but im swapping it out when it gets warm. i think its the reservoir sensor cause i have no leaks at all. as long as its all topped off, you are set. i got the missfire code when i had my old motor, it was due to the o2 sensors not being hooked up, that or the coolant that got into my plugs and wires. if your manifold aint leaking and there is no coolant leaking, i wouldnt worry about the radiator part. missfire could just be a sensor.

I just had my MSD ignition wires and coil packs put on with NGK plugs and I had my mechanic check out this "mysterious evaporation" of my coolant fluid and he found that it was the seepage or the excess of coolant that the water pump lets out.

So, any of you guys ever heard of a water pump that lets out too much "excess" coolant?

The water pump shouldnt let out any coolant unless it has a bad bearing. When it starts to go bad, you should see coolant leaking out of the weep hole. If your car had too much coolant, its not gonna leak out through the water pump. Anyway, I dont think theres a possible way that you can overfill the system.

Okay so whats the usual price for the bearing and price for the labor?

Your gonna need to replace the water pump itself. Not sure what the price would be on labor. You can do it yourself. The waterpumps on these cars are very easy to replace. The price for the waterpump wont be much.
