Default 97 gt questions

hey guys. i had a few questions about my sisters 97 gt convertibal. I am 16, never been to intrested in these new cars. I have a 68 project car. I want a mustang for a everyday driver. here is my options. i can buy my sisters car (take over payments really) or go and get me a 5.0 fox body. I was really wanting a fox bodie, but sence this option was presented i have been thinking about it. Im not into fuel injection or dohc. what are the stock hp and tourqe #'s on her 97? its stock with mufflers. (cheep *** autozone cherry bombs I belive). oh, BTW what kinda trany does she have? its a 3 speed overdrive auto.

Thanks guys, I appreacate it
Greg

Its got 215HP at the fly and 285Trq, not sure on the tranny. If you could find a GT 5.0 5speed id suggest getting that 94-98GT's are slow, the foxes arnt much faster if at all, but they are easier to mod.

probly like 185 to the wheels....considering its an auto so you lose some more than a manual would

You have a 4R70w trans on a 97 auto. Also 5.0`s arent just easier to mod, the parts are soo much cheaper.

fox 5.0s put out roughly 195 to the rear stock if my memory serves... plus they're gonna be a good deal lighter than a 97 vert.

YEah, i think im geting the GT. i LOVE driving it. i took it on the interstate today, it was a BLAST. are you shure it only has 185 horse? feels like alot more than that. I can spin them over at 30. tryed at 40, it just downshifted and went.
