i think mine is 15%...but when the cop gave me a ticket for my tint the reader said 11%

Those things are always off, when I had 5% I got a ticket and it said 7%, my friend had 35% mirror tint on his F150 (to match the back windows) and when he got pulled over it said 27%? Now I have 15%, but if I would have done the tint I would have put 5% on. After I do some more high priority things I will get it retinted.

I don't particularly use tint as a mod. I use it as privacy. I can't stand people staring at me when I'm driving down the road. This way, they can't.

Who the hell tints the whole windshield anyway??? And why in the hell would you put the top down if you are gonna leave the windows up? I have a 8-10" strip along the top of the windshield. It keeps me from EVER getting sun in my eyes. Look at my gallery for pics. My car measures 3% on an actual meter, the highway patrolman tested it when he pulled me over.

had 5% on my last car and 10 on the mustang. personaly i like the 10 much better ya still cant see in but you can see out a lot better.

yea, 5% is rough at night... I can't see out of my back window at night.. Well, I can see headlights, but that's about it. During the day, it's fine though. Illegal, but fine.

Getting a ticket for tinting the windows doesnt affect insurance does it? Im thinking of getting 10%.

It's a moving violation in most states, so yes it will raise rates if you get ticketed.

I have limo tint on the rear and medium on the sides. Not really sure what the % is, but the sides look really dark with my dark interior. Some cops dont really care, and others do. Just roll the window(s) down when approaching a cop. Ive had tinted windows on all my cars since 1992 and only was pulled over one time. No ticket, cop said to remove the tint or he would give me a ticket the next time so I avoided that area and never had a problem again. Ive also had cops pull up next to me on the highway and just they kept going. In all reality, it depends on the cop.
