Top of 1st equals....35 MPH? I bet your intake sucks air faster than that at full throttle.

You think so? I have no idea. I just figure it has to be helping more with the air pushing in the air box, instead of sucking through the fender. Also has to be cooler than fenderwell air too.

Don't let the excited butt-dyno fool you.

Being VERY GENEROUS you saw 5hp at the most, I'd bet my Cobra on this.

performance mod. Cervini's says 25 hp and increases 1/4 by .3 sec and 3mph. I thought that was a little overrated but i am a beliver now. I don't have any times though. But I can feel a huge differance. Thanks for oppinion

I'd bet his cobra on it too! [sm=icon_rofl.gif]

Ram Air doesnt really do anything unless your going like 120MPH then maybe you will see 5 horsepower.

So, let me get this right, you have a ram air hood from cervini's? Ive searched through their catalog and didnt find a "ram air system" regardless, if you were going to spend around $700 on something, and wanted something functional/looks, I would have gotten CDC's shaker hood system. Or a FIPK CAI and some gears, or UDP or something

I don't know what catalog you are looking through but here is a link right here for you.

https://www.cervinis.com/product.aspx?car=1&id=1165#343

"The Ram Air Kit has been proven with an onboard diagnostic system to increase 1/4 mile performance, .3 seconds and 3 mph. You will experience increased throttle response, and gains in horsepower will begin at 40 mph and continue to 70 mph."

where as a CAI you will see added power as soon as you hit the gas at 1mph. to cut off .3 from your 1/4, that thing would have to add 30+HP easily. i have yet to hear of ANY CAI or ram air that could do that. i saw a K&N filter (yes, just a filter) add 25RWHP to a cobra on the stang club dyno day. and that's a car with forced induction, which responds a hell of a lot better to mods than N/A cars.

Like i said earlier, i have a hard time seeing 25 hp out of it but i has to be more than a cold air kit anyways just for the simple fact that the holes the air flows in from are much larger than witht the factory box and all air coming in is from outside the car. I have been looking on google but have found no dyno tests on any cervinis hoods. It would be hard to dyno a ram air set up without air blowing in cause you are not going anywhere on a dyno.

still.. ram air isn't worth the money. even if it does give 5HP more. kind of hard to tell on a dyno since the car isn't actually moving and taking advantage of the "ram air" effect. it's more of a cosmetic mod in the long run than a regular CAI.
