You guys got me thinking about a converter
You guys got me thinking about a converter this past weekend with all the talk about stall speed. I had talked to a guy at Sean Highland Motorsport a while back and I asked him what he thought about a higher stall speed. He said he thought it would just be harder on the car so I just stopped thinking about it for the time being.
So anyway I called Precision Ind. today and talked to the guy about how the car would drive, stall and such. He said "with the way they build converters the car should drive close to stock while driving normal and for my application (torque peak at 4100 rpm and 90% street - 10% strip) he would suggest a lower stall than a complete racing app." He suggested 3000-3200 for me.
I got a price also $735.00 for the Stalion. I actually thought it would be more like $1000 so it's not realy as much as I figured. According to their site a car can get as much as 50HP and gain about .75 sec in the 1/4 over the stock converter. Even .5 sec would be awsome.

I think if you are 90% street use, the 3,000-3,200 stall would be plenty.
I don't see it making 50 HP though

making a dramatic difference. Hopefully I'll find out this spring.
