New guy needs ideas
My Fiance has a 2004 40th Anniversary GT Convertible. Its black with tan top and tan stripes. A pretty car. It has 22k miles on it. I love the car, but it feels kind of weak.
What are the best mods "bang for buck". I want to keep it totally reliable for her.
Headers and new exhaust?
A chip or programmer?
Cold air Intake?
3:55 gear?
Does anyone know what this car does in the 1/4 or 0-60? Thanks, MT

1) https://mustangforums.com/m_617221/tm.htm <--- Its a sticky
2) 3.55 Gears ? what are you thinking.... get 4.10+
3) Programmer is more useful then a chip
4) CAI easy mod but adds about 2rwhp
5) Long Tube Headers, X-pipe Catted, Catback adds more hp then gears but.... gears are probably best bang for your buck, but you will need a programmer to correct speedo.

What you want to do to the car depends on what you want the car to do.
If you want better response and power in daily driving, you want improved low and mid range torque (and you meantioned "feels kind of weak"). Headers and cold air and a chip will help here a little bit. But if you want to TRANSFORM the car, If you have the money, the best step you can make is to just drop a screw-type (modified roots) supercharger on it (Eaton, Whipple, other brand) and be done with it. This will add low end torque, add high end HP, and (if you buy a good kit and get it put on by a good mechanic) be completely reliable.
Converting to 4.10 gears will add torque and acceleration enough to transform the feel of the car day to day, but for daily driving they can be a pain for many people: the car runs at noticeably higher revs and gets poorer fuel economy (by contrast, superchargers with the by-pass valve make almost no impact on fuel economy - I had an Eaton M-112 on my vette for several years and it made not even half a mpg difference.
this picture shows a typical screw-type blower (the Eaton that was on the stock engine in my vette until I replaced that engine last year).
