Default Gasoline smell-leaks.

I went to fill up my gas tank and while trying to top off,I noticed spatters of gas on the ground.I only lost about a pint.It wasn't coming out of the overflow tube but from around the grommet that seals the filler tube to the tank itself. It wasn't bad enough to set off the CEL but after the car was out of the wind you could smell gas from ten feet away.It was covered under warranty and has been replaced but there have been several posts about gas smells and poor fuel economy (possible leaks) and thought this might shed some light.Aren't emmissions related warranty claims good for longer than the standard drivetrain coverage?

Default RE: Gasoline smell-leaks.

Yes, but I believe that only pertains to catalytic converters.
