Default shifters

Im new as a member to the forums here, but ive been reading what everyone has to say as a guest for a few months. Anyways, im looking to replace the shifter in my 01' bullitt, but i have no idea what shifter to replace it with. Any feedback at all on the likes and dislikes you have about your short throw shifters would be awesome. Any advice at all helps. Duece.

Im kinda like MATT. I had the Steeda Tri-axe and absoluetly loved it. Ive never felt any other, but MGW seems to be very popular here. I think between those two, you cant go wrong.

You planning on keeping your aluminum shift ****? mine is more of a pain than I'd like...really cold to the touch in winter and hot in summer

I kept the shift ****, and like in the mach and bullitts, the shift knog there as well, both got hot/cold... so, I took an oakley sunglasses case (the soft ones) and slipped it over whenever it was uncomfortable :-p But most of the time I suck it up

I have a Pro 5.0 and it works very well. The short lever will require you to reach forward to get to fifth gear but it shifts flawlessly.

Should be a simple install, I don't know you're aptitude with cars... Me personally, I do ALL my own work, (head swaps, valve train, pistons etc) but I do have onbase facilities with fully qualified (retired) expieranced mechanics incase I run into something I dont know. Make sure you get a new gasket set, if you're shifter you buy doesnt come with one, it's fairly simple though :-p

My write up on how to install the shifter. Basic steps for all shifters, I just happened to be installing a MGW

Easy and straight forward. Should take less then an hour if you are mechanincally inclined.

My vote is the MGW, but I am bias
