Default which tuner?

what tuner (diablosport Predator, SCT Xcalibrator) is better for a stock 04 GT? what options does predator offer that SCT does not, and vice versa? which one has the better options?

the only thing one has over the other is the ability to adjust the shift firmness and points of an auto tranny ( the SCT ). Other than that its pretty much personal preference.

so the sct is better for an auto? And if you change the firmness of the shift points is a shift kit needed?

I would honestly go with whichever one you can get a better deal on. The SCT Xcal2 has a few more features, but for a stock stang either one will work. I have the predator and it worked wonders for my auto.

With either tuner a shift kit isn't really needed but it couldn't hurt. I'm not sure how firm you can make the shifts with the sct but i know at the higest setting with my predator my car shifts into second and third pretty hard. I would assume that the sct settings would be similar so its all personal preference.

I dont think you can adjust the firmess with the predator, if you could more people would be using it. You can adjust the shift point but not the actual firmness, thats why everyone ( most ) with an auto is running the SCT for this very reason.

Trust me, you can adjust the shift firmness with the predator. I know this because I own one. But not to get too far off topic, I think that most people go with the sct because more dyno tuners use the sct software than diablosport. Thats one more thing to think about if you have bigger plans down the road that will require a dyno tune. Hope that helps.
