we still have yet to know what the heck you drive... I have a 97 mustang GT with 107k miles on it... and I DON"T plan on modding the engine that's in there beyond a few bolt ons and exhaust!! Gonna swap in a fresh motor...

usually when you go crazy supercharging an engine, generally what you want to do is do it to a freshly rebuilt engine with internals meant to handle boost and high HP.

I don't want to come off as an *** but.....unless your delivery car is a pre 03 Viper, $3000 will not let you keep up with even a C5 Z06.
Thats not 100% true. If it's a 99-04 GT he can get a used vortech and a tune for $3000 and that would run with the C5 Z06's. But he want to enter into another atmosphere (keeping up with the C6 Z06.) Even if he has an 03/04 cobra there would be nothing he could do for $3000 that could make him beat one.

well, what about the kit i saw the other day (it would be nice for me to say exactly what it was but i cant remember who made it) for the 03-04 cobra that advertised 575-600 HP, i thought they even boasted rwp, for like 2600. Looked like pipes pullies tuner and stuff, i will try to find it again.

This dude hasnt came back yet after the flogging he has taken

No reply from superslimjimmy yet? I think he must still be asleep. Personally I don't see a problem with dumping a supercharger on a 100,000 mile car for someone crazy enough to want to beat a Z06 with a pizza in the front seat. Must be "if it's cold the driver pays".

I know what kit you're talking about. SLP makes it and you can find it at lmperformance.com. Yes, it claims 575 hp, but the cobra weighs more, the vette is more aerodynamic, and the vette has better tires to put the power to the ground. I also suspect these vettes were underrated. So it might be a close race, but I would still put my money on the vette.

Oh about that 575 HP kit from SLP. MM&FF did add all that stuff that they are selling to get you to that 575 mark and once they dyno'd it, it did not make it. Yes, it did make a nice jump in power, but not quite to the point of the 575 hp.

Are you sure? Just because it didn't make 575 RWHP doesn't mean it doesn't make 575 flywheel HP.

ok so u want to beat cars right off the line?? well first u gota start off with that 100k motor, rebuild it with forged internals should run like brand new, after that full bolt ons and i mean everything, after that throw on that S/C (make it a kenne bell 2.2l at around 18-20 psi, u do wana beat that vette right?) and now u need the power to the wheels, lower control arms, full suspension, a good set of wheels (D/R's) and im probably missing a few things here, im sure others that have done something close to this know what u gota do but if u expect 3 grand for all that ur seriously still asleep

Umm, lets see. To make the 2.2 work properly you will need a new fuel system, new tranny, new driveshaft, new suspension, some really sticky tires, and the rebuilt engine. Grand total...... somewhere around $10000-18000, depending on who does it and where you get the parts. Can't forget the tune and other little tings you'll need too.
