RE: What Tranny fluid to use with a T-45??
Check your owners manual and see what oil you should use, weight and viscosity..... I think that transmission used gear oil not automatic transmission fluid. My old T-5 in my old 89 mustang used gear oil.... As for my current mustang. I have a tremec 3650 and I have to use Automatic transmission fluid for some odd reason. But I checked my owners manual and I am glad I did because I would have but regular gear oil in.... But anyways. I used Royal Purple "Synchromax" which is designed to be used in manual transmissions that reguire automatic transmission fluid. DO NOT use this fluid unless your manual states for you to use automatice transmission fluid. Automatic fluid is very thin and will most likely wear out your trans very prematurly. So if it doesnt use auto fluid. Just find out what the specs are for the oil to use and buy some royal purple gear oil. My transmission used 3.25 quarts. But yours may be different, check your owners manual it will tell you.
