and i think ive read on here b4 that if your going with long tube headers to go ahead and do the clutch at the same time b/c u have to take headers off to install new clutch, is that correct? is so i will just get those 2 done at the same time!

standard clutch takes 4hrs to install. 4hrs X labor = my guess probably around $400 bucks.

Take off the H pipe, getting to the upper bolts is a bitch... unhook the wireing harness, o2 sensors. Take out the starter, which the top bolt is damn near impossible to get at. unbolt the tranny ( much harder than it sounds). Also drain the tranny fluid before, take the flywheel off, get a new one or resurface it, pressure plate, throwout bearing etc. put everything back.

Its a bitch, however not a bigger bitch than installing long tubes, especially on a 5 year old car jesus christ... took me 5 days.

I have replaced the clutch on my old 89 mustang and just receintly on my 2003 mustang. Its a pain in the ***, on a mustang with a tremec 3650. Because you can not unbolt the transmission from the bellhousing so you have to take it out in one peice. I dont have a lift so I had to do all this lying on my back. I couldnt tell you how long it took me because in taking out my mid-pipe I snapped the stud on the passenger exhaust manifold, it was siezed on there. So I had to take it out anyways so I just bought some longtubes. But I installed my transmission before I installed the longtubes because the long tubes are in the way. Its too much to explain, for my energy right now but heres a link that will help you. It tells you had to remove a tremec 3650 and install a t-56 but you can just reverse the process. I think the shop cost is more like 6 hours not 4.
