Default RE: Stage 1 Clutch vs. Stage 2

Im running Spec Stage II, yea it grabs like a bitch which I love personally, but can be difficult to drive until you get accustomed to it. Spec clutches do chatter a little on occasion, mine does. If you plan on going FI in the next 6-12 months, get the Stage II or equivalent I say. Otherwise Stage I is fine for sure IMO. Ive read many articles where guys were pushing 400HP and still running a stock clutch because they simply didnt like the hard feel of anything stronger. So if you dont mind pushing a little harder, ge tthe Stage II, it will last longer due tothe composition of the clutch material also.

I've got the Centerforce Dual Friction Stage 2 in mine and I love it to no end. Grabs hard and the pedal isn't that firm at all. Maybe a tid bit firmer than a stock set up. I like it a lot, but I haven't heard anything wrong with a King Cobra...

So it's stage one or save the money is the resounding vote. I truthfully have never met anyone who had the Stage 1, but no one ever really said why not.

Save, like i said the stock clutch looks much better than stage 1, my friend burnt his up in 5 months of mostly winter driving.

I got my king cobra for 200ish, it grabs real hard and is rated to like 500 hp or something.

FYI, all spec stage 1-3 use the same pressure plate, only difference is the clutch disk. so they will all have the same feel..

i got a spec stage 2 and love it. The chatter is gone after about 700-1000 miles, but my t45 did blow an output shaft when i was in the desert. It was replaced with a C6 shaft. At the time my tranny and the clutch were taken apart and they looked brand new.
