Default too slow!

I dont see a need for a timing adjuster if you use a programmer.

Default too slow!

ok. i took it back to the strip and lightened the load by cleaning out my trunk. i turned the overdrive off and still only managed a 15.8 letting the computer shift for me. it was a humid night but i was running 15.9 when it wasn't humid. i mean. i'm a big guy but i don't think i'd keep the car running that slow. any more suggestions would be great. my friend's got one of those new mazdaspeed proteges with the turbo in itand has ran the 1/4 in 15.9 with only a cai. i can't get beat by a protege. a protege!

Looking at your timeslip, your 60ft time should be approx. 2.18-2.20 with a stock 4.6 automatic Stang. But more importantly it also appears that the top end is off, should be in the 90 to 92 mph range. So for some reason it is not putting out the horsepower that it should be. My recommendations, for what it's worth, would be to:
1. Avoid the water in the burn out box, go around it and just heat the tires slightly.
2. don't rev the engine up at the line, just let go of the brake and stomp the gas.
3. Turn the overdrive off (actually I don't know if this does anything, but it is my technique.
4. Let the trans shift for itself.
5. Work your times down in it's present form before spending more money on mods. If it isn't running right now, you will probably not get the gains you are hoping for with the mods.
Good luck

The TA costs alot less than a programer , and if your check engine light is on due to no MIL's it COULD be your whole problem.
