04 GT vs. 06 monte carlo SS
 

A friend of mine is getting a 06 monte carlo SS this weekend. He says it will blow away my 04 GT. In a way im a little scared because of the fact the new SS`s have 303 hp V8`s now. [:o] I havent done much research on the new SS as of yet but so far I cant find any specs on it that would be helpful to me. So I was just wondering if any of you know anything about the new SS. All info would be great... :D

Hey man you still got him just do you fancy driving skills the Mustang GT will do 0-60 in 5.3 seconds the Carlo is doing 0-60 in 6.0 heres the link Motor Trend did this review should be pretty reliable. Close Race though!Monte Carlo Specs

God that car is ugly, it looks just like a Cobalt! Good Luck if/when you race him.

Deffinitly an ugly ugly car. LOL it does look like a cobalt!

Its heavier than and mustang GT. By about 200lbs. and it is an automatic. It should be a close race, do it. You may beat him you may not, but in no way will he beat you by more than a half a car length. Or you will just beat him.

Well, whatever the case may be, hopefully ill have my 4.10`s in by the time we actually race. If so, it seems like ill have the better end. :D

You should have him for sure. GM has probelms with the weight of their cars. Your car is lighter and with less power you can pull yours down the street faster than his. Don't worry, it's all you...

I think you could powershift your way to victory. I bet he'll beat you off the line and you'll have to play catch up, but by the time you hit 2nd gear you should be ahead of him. Good luck, let us know what happens.

My g/f has an 04 Monte SS & I raped that car like there was no tomorrow! Oh, well, my 02 GT wasn't stock when we raced[&:][8D]. Evenstill, the SOP feeling to me is that the Monte Carlo is smooth & plenty fast, but lacks compared to the GT's grunt. Even the 06's can't run ur GT.
