Default way to correct speedo from bigger rims?

Ive heard since I have 16s stock, that with 17 inch rims, my speedometer would be off any way to correct this?? btw I have a 96 gt

Not if you go with a 40 series tire.

If you get 245/45/17 or 275/40/17 or 315/35/17, then your speedo will be correct. If you get any other sizes, DallasMustang Speedcal for $100 will fix it as well as a gear swap for you.
