I would check out the engine if I were you and make sure it doesnt say "32 Valve V8. If it is just a 98 GT, than kick his ace, and see if he'll put money on it.

Even if it was a Cobra that is 8 years old he'd lose to you. It would be pushing over 100k and showing its age. I wouldn't worry about it and race him.

not necessarily true, my cobra just turned 10 and can walk a 99+ gt thats stock, i have a pretty small list of mods, shouldn't be but maybe 15 extra ponies. but still 305 hp on a cobra versus the 265 from the gt. stock for stock, cobra should take it ever single time

260 for a GT, 2001 Bullit stangs were 265

not to mention that he also has 2.73 gears

I don't know about that. My old 02 GT could stay at the door of a 98 Cobra and my new stang can whoops a 98s butt and the horse power ratings are the same.

My 98 3.8V6 stang has the "Special Edition" badge in the rear and on the C stripes on the side. I think it is the complete package of 5speed manual, the exterior trim, and maybe a slightly tuned engine or exhaust. The stock exhaust sound on my car doesn't sound anything close to other stock v6's I've seen. It has a throatier sound, but I still have no clue what it means...
If anyone knows what this edition means on a v6, please let me know. RangerStang302@cableone.net
