Default Lowering Springs All It Takes???

Alright, I have an 03 GT, and would like to lower it, but have many questions. I see the advertised spring kits that drop your car about an inch and a half for like 160. Is that all you really need to lower your car without any problems?? New shocks/struts are recommened I know that, how much are they as well??

They are recommened, but you do not NEED them.

Any further than an 1 1/2 inches your ride will become much harsher and you will need CC plates, regardless of what anyone else says, they are required to get the proper alignment.

Dan04Cobra, is your car lowered? If so, what all did you invest in? Just the springs? Thanks, Kyle

*sigh* Here we go....

I recently installed a suspension setup on my car.....

To go along with my springs (H&R supersports 2" front 1.5" rear), I installed foxbody shocks/struts...they are cheap alternatives to aftermarket shocks. I got them for like $100 and they work great for lowering applications and weight transfer. As for the C&C plates.....yes, to get properly aligned, you will need them if you get a 1.5+ drop or so. BUT, after you lower your car....and your camber isnt off too bad, you dont HAVE to get them. If your camber is off (mine is very negative right now)...your tires are going to wear unevenly...so I would recommend getting an alignment after your suspension if your camber is off.

I also installed Granatelli upper/lower control arms at the same time.....they help to get better traction and reduce wheel hop.

Yea, they are great. I have had them in for about a week or so now with no problems.

Ride quality is a little stiffer with the suspension package, but feels good. I would recommend them to anyone on a tight budget
