Default Where to get a 4-Point Roll Bar for my '04 GT Vert

I need a roll bar. I live in So Cal.

I want to race SCCA Solo 1. I'd like be NHRA legal (down to 12.0 sec anyway)

I can't loose access to my back seat (no weld-in diagonals, or weld-in harness bar)

Anybody have a suggestion?

Thanks

That's the bar I've been looking at. Planned on the ATPHB option: Bolt-in diagonal and bolt-in harness. However, they list that bar as "NOT NHRA legal"

Is there any way to be NHRA Legal without loosing the back seat?

Do you have any insight how strict "NHRA Legal" enforcement is at SoCal tracks?

Is that bar SCCA Legal?

Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

hehehe thats the problem when you build up a new monster car like that.
my cars is not as built as yours but still, im not going to wait to put a cage/bar in a 04 car for a few years. its still pretty new and hard to enjoy caged car on the street.

plus if you have passengers in the back seat and you get in an accident they can nail the bar and hurt themselves. sure you can cover it but it wont help much

You actually need a 5 or 6 point, it needs to be welded and there are a few requirements for height and distance from your head. The 5 point is just a 6 point without the passenger door bar. Unfortunately NHRA makes things very difficult for high powered 4-seat verts. Even SCCA, which only requires a 4 point, requires a diagonal brace. I saw a good one a while back where the the diagonal braces could be disconnected from the main loop for access to the back seats. The least intrusive option would be to get one of MM's 6 point race legal bars, remove the passenger side bar, and see if NHRA or the track safety official will let you get away with making the bar on the inside of the main loop removable.
Alot of times you can contact people at the track via email or phone and they'll go over some ideas with you. Even if you have to have it all welded together, you could probably have friends squirm or climb over the bars. There's still room in the back seats if you can get to them.

I want one too and you can't go wrong with MM. Good luck, it's gonna look tight in your vert.

the NHRA and IHRA are drag racing organizations that sanction most tracks and set the safetly requirements. If you want to legally drag race at any legitimate track, you'll have to follow their rules. The requirements for verts are stricter for obvious reasons. If you roll a vert without a bar, you die. coupes start to need a bar around around 11s and for verts it's more like 13.5

SCCA has it's own rules and the requirements in the design of the roll bar are slightly different (you can still get ones that work for both). SCCA governs autocross and track events.
