I dont think the 4.6 2v is a lost cause. There will still be companys that make aftermarket parts for it. Because there is a market for it, there are people who want to buy those parts. The 5.0 has been stopped in production since 1996, thats 10 years ago. I still see parts and new blocks coming out for that motor. I think the reason 3v's got so much attention from the aftermarket companies because they relieze the people that buy these cars are going to buy the. They look at people with the 5.0's and 2v's. But I beieve you can also put the 3v heads and intake on our blocks. Well the two valve was deffinitly replaced for a more efficient SOHC motor. But I have now worries that the aftermarket company will not stop producing products for our motors.

They will definitely continue to make parts for the 2v mod motors. These motors when taken care of reach an easy 200K miles like the ole 5.0s do. They can make nice strong power just like 5.0s do. They will continue to make parts give it time man. Dont be so down on it.

I beleive the Fuel injected MAS 5.0's had like 5 or more years before aftermarket companies really started making performance parts for them. Nows a good time in the 2v's life, there are alot of them out there, and companies are really starting to focus and meet the demands of the buyers and making new parts. There not going to stop making parts for 2v's.

I'm not really, I wanted to see what everyone thought.
In terms that Ford would think in, the 4.6 is far superior to the 5.0
It's efficient, makes good test-drive power, and is part of their modular lineup. What else could you want?

RE: Is the 4.6L 2v a lost cause?
This made me feel pretty good when I read it. From Kenne Bell.
THE TESTCAR
Here's what it is. The old Kenne Bell '99 GTtest car, now owned by Kenne Bell Kit Designer, Brent Morris, has been our 4.6 GTkit test mule since 1999. It's been the recipient of thousands of dyno tests. It produced an amazing 642HP with an automatic and 682 with the manual trans, both at 20 psi boost. These power levels are 30HP above our comparably equipped Cobras. The little 4.6 2V motor with a Kenne Bell supercharger is one pissed off 2V.
Now why is this? Because the 2v only has to run 2 cams total?
Do we even know if you can put a 3v head on a 2v block. A 3v is a sohc right?
