Default MGW shifter install

Ok I just got my shifter in today and I was looking at the instructions and it looks like I need 2 get under the car 2 install the short throw shifter, is this correct???

No you dont need to get under the car at all. you can do everything in your car.

all u have to do is pull the boot off then un bolt the handle then the base and pull it right off. its the easiest install ever and u can do it at night time with the dome light its so easy

unless you have an 05, everything can be done from the drivers seat. Unless you want to change your fluid while your at it.

whats underneath the car that you could possibly need to get to? when that dust boot comes off you can see straight to the ground

The transmission drain plug, if your changing the tranny fluid while doing the swap.

You only need to get under the car to change the fluid if you do so when you change the shifter.

Other then that just sit in the drivers seat.

but to contribute to the thread, the shifter can all be done from inside the car.
