what are the stock ring and pinion gears on a 98 gt?

I believe 3:27's dont quote me if i am wrong u can always check the tag on the rear end if it hasnt been removed.

yea, check the tag on the rear diff. My 96 came with 3.27, there has also been other gt's that came with 2.73's.

Yeah my 96 came with 3:27's. But that was an option out of the factory. I still have the window sticker, stock is 2:73 w/o the 3:27 posi set up...

yep, I have a 97 GT and it has a 3.27 posi. I don't know how they lived with a standard diff. with 2.73. ONLY advantage there would be highway fuel economy.

I think it was a 200 or 300 dollar option? well worth it


I still have my window sticker too! The guy i bought it from kept it.

Mine has 2.73's, and its so weird how well it runs for a stock 4.6. I keep withing a car length of my friends(until I flip the switch), 3.27 geared 5 speed 99 gt. And it seems like we are close to equal drivers.
