Starting today my 1997 GT squeals/screeches when I turn the wheel to the left or right. If I turn it in either direction and then stop the sound stops. Any ideas before I take it to my mechanic?

Maybe check your fluid first.

i have this problem as well, and from the various posts/topics ive heard, it might be one of the bushings. i havent gone under there to check it out yet (doesnt seem detrimental to anything, just annoying). sounds similar to mine.

lube everything under the front end. anything that looks as it may touch somthing else lube it. that was the case on my brothers 94 gt and that fixde the problem. focus on the struts the most.
