Default Suspension Problems 96GT

Okay I have noticed that in the last month or so of driving I am getting uneven tread wear.........on the drivers side its wearing the inner part of the tire really bad and on the passenger side its wearing the outer part of the tire.

I'm not sure if my mechanic always knows whats right for my car so my question is does bad ball joint and tie rods usually cause this?

My mechanic said that he could just do a front wheel alignment but I should get the ball joints and tie rods done before that to make sure everything is tight and precise. Does that sound okay?

Also, I am assuming there is no upgrade for ball joints and tie rods on a 96 GT is there?

you may need new ball joints. Have you recently done any suspension work of any kind on the car???

No not myself, I don't have any tools or anything for that. I did some engine work on my 95 Taurus SHO but I used my friends tools. Basically for all my bolt on mods or repairs I have been going to the same mechanic for years never had any complaints...........although he does slightly overprice labor sometimes.

But I'm in no position to do any repairs myself, I usually don't have the time or the tools.[&o]

The inner and outer tie rods and ball joints haven't been touched since 96 on this GT, so I guess I really don't mind getting new suspension parts, so any of you guys got suggestions on if they have upgrades for tie rods or ball joints?
