Default Track Racing questions

Im gonna be hooking my car up for drag since its an auto, but with a bauman shift kit, I can downshift/upshift using the cruise control buttons, it overrides them, do you think id be able to track race with that ? cuz I know a manual is better but I dont go to the track enought o make it worth it so I got this car in mind for drag, any comments? the response im looking for is will it be able to keep up with a manual

The short answer is no.
+1 your auto won't keep up with the manuals on a roadcourse, but in a drag race, a shift kit, stall, DR's and Gears will put you a good distance ahead. That bauman shift kit is kind of a waste of money for a car that is strictly mean for drag. Think about it. You're not gonna downshift in a drag race. Maybe on the street from a roll, but not at the track. Just an observation. I say for the money you should just geta trans-go shift kit and put the extra cash into a high strall converter. But, if you wanna downshift in daily driving or even on a road course, those Bauman kits are supposed to be badass.
