Default Ok now just read this, donnt have a good title in mind

ok well my friend who hes smart in cars but hes one of those manual happy people, he believes that manuals can still smoke an auto in a drag race, his biggest point is the pros use manuals, but its only the clutch, its a sequential gearbox, but anyway he claims that im wrong, manuals can beat an auto with a torque convertor and a shift kit on a 1/4 anyday, anyone wanna chime in and ill show him this forum?

They use what trans the class calls for, for instance Pro Stock uses a Lenco but it's not anywhere near a what a regular trans is like. Look at top fuel there is no trans it's a direct drive with a multi clutch set up.

yes this question was more directed towards street cars, is it not true the torque brake launch gives the auto a bigger advantage than a manual driver, if the driver is average, or even good but not pro
