Indeed, you should be proud of yourself. I know what you are going through. I almost lost my front end to a bus a few days a go in the exact same situation. I was about 3 feet behind the stop line, and I had to back up about another 5 feet for him to make his turn. He could have made the turn fine, but he turned too early. He didn't even slow down. Had there been a car beinhd me, this thread might have had my name on it.

As far as fault, it will depend on where the officer places the area of impact. If the area of impact is placed in front of the limit line, regardless of whether or not you were moving, your insurance company would find you at fault for either a stop sign violation or blocking the roadway. If it is behind the limit line, the driver of the truck would be found at fault for driving left of center. Whatever happens, I'm sorry to hear about your car and good job staying calm. Good luck.

thanks. it was hard to not hit him but i dont know whos fault its gunna be. the place of impact is going to be past the line cuz i stopped, looked and then went but he didnt slow down and came into my lane so im not sure. it feels like i got kicked in the chest though. they might take his side though cuz im only 19 and he was like 40. thanks again for the support.
