There isnt a knob. If you talking about the copper color peice on it that controls to an electrical connect which I beleive is some sort of diaphram which controls the valves position.

i have a 96gt so im guessing its different but mine difinitely has a black knob on top and i see now that your's doesnt. i turned it when cleaning to see what it was and the pin or valve thing inside opened and closed but i need to know which way is which.

Cool I wish mine did that. You should start your car and adjust the knobe and listen to your motor as the rpms increase or decrease. Then find the sweet spot for it, about 750rpm at idle. A better way would be to purchase a haynes manual for your car and read what they say about setting it. They may want you to use a Digital volt ohm meter to precisly set it. But just doing it by ear will be fine also.

i figured i could just do that but i didnt know if i should but i guess i will. im hopin doing this and maybe my tps is off and adjust it will help my idle out.
