put new motor in, starting problems. please help
just put a new motor in my 96 mustang 4.6 gt. put in the same motor, just less miles and i'm having a little problem. all the lights work, vents blow but when i turn the key, the "low oil" light comes on, then when i quit trying to start it, the lights shuts off. i cant hear the fuel pump start either. its just dead like something just isn't getting power. i racked my brain over it and had a couple buddies look at it and no luck . dont know if anyone has had this problem swapping motors or would have any idea what else to look for and see whats not connected right or whatever. any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

RE: put new motor in, starting problems. please help
the motor i had was shot, and i got a new one basicly free. money is a little tight right now so i didn't go all out. motor i just put in was out of a 97 gt 4.6, but everything is the same. only thing i took off my old motor was the underdrive pulleys, ac and power steering. computers stayed in the car as well but new motor did come with harness so i used that as well.

The only thng I could recommend is to check all you connections. Make sure all the grounds are clean and attached to the frame. If the fuel pump whines and it still won't turn over, I would check the quality of the motor. I hope it's not locked.
