03 Cobra simply has rediculous power potential, I myself hope to buy one in possibly 2 or 3 years hopefully. Defanitly 03/04 cobra man.

Fallstar is right...assuming you want to spend 10 grand on a blower+engine combo with installation costs. However, it's a worse choice from an investment standpoint. If you put the 10 grand into it, you can up the boost and beat many 03/04s. However, you then have to build up the drivetrain which costs you more money. You could end up spending 15 grand on this in no time and when you go to sell you might see 1/3 of it. Go with the 03 and do a solid axle swap. You can get one for like $800.

03-04 Cobra is a much better platform. The potential is basically endless. You will end up spending alot more $$ on your '98 to get to the point of what a bolt on 03-04 Cobra can achieve.

Hey I plan on putting tt on my car and doing a few other mods it's not that bad only at 11567.84 but still have shipping and handeling plus instal. If I sold my car and put that car into buyin an 03/04 cobra then i'd still be short but hey it's all up to you. Oh and yeah you could drop 15 grand in a mustang easily my list isn't finnished yet it's gonna = that or more

platform wise, I don't see where you're coming from. There is nothing in an 03 that he couldn't replace with the same or better in the 98. See the problem that people are forgetting is that even after forking out 30k for an 03, he's still got several hundred... no actually, thousands of dollars yet to spend to get the 650hp beast that people all picture. The 98 is potentially a lighter, sturdier, stronger, better 700+ hp beast long before he reaches the price of a bone stock 390 hp cobra.

6 speed tranny, better brakes, better interior, built motor and in the end alot easier to get the $$ out of your investment if you want to sell.
