Default Check Engine after spark plug install!?

I recently replaced my stock spark plugs with Bosch +4 plugs, these have four prongs instead of the stock one. After the install I am now getting a check engine light! Do you think the increased spark is causing me to run lean? Any feedback or suggestions would be great!

Go to Advance Auto or Auto Zone and have the code read. They will do it for free. We just finished dealing with that light. It ended up being an 0 2 sensor needing to be replaced.

You are correct in assuming it is the plug but for the wrong reason.

Bosch +4 are junk in our motors. The prongs hood the spark and cause a horrible burn in the combustion chamber. I would pull them out and install a set of copper or iridiums.

BTW Spark has nothing to do with the car being lean or rich. Lean or Rich is just the ratio of fuel and air. Less fuel or more air = lean and the opposite for rich.

Pretty much unless you want to keep them. But the are NOT the best plugs for our motors and most people have issues with them.

But I didn't mention that they probably don't have anything to do with the CEL, so I would have that scanned at your local auto parts store. Probably come up with a miss fire some where.

Just double check all you connections at the cap and at the plugs.
