Default Mach1 guys...Free mod...

I heard that if you unbolt your Shaker and put a bigger washer under there that it will raise your shaker a little bit, give you better air flow, add a few ponies, and give a littel better gas milage....

anyone ever heard of this?

I'm sure it will give you a little bit better flow. However I very strongly doubt its actually going to give you any horsepower. If it does its probably abotu 1/4-1/2 a pony. How much could you REALLY benefit from your shaker being another 1/4 inch up in the air??? Go ahead and try it tho, tell us if it works!

I believe I have seen this as a mod for machs, but I thought it was for looks. sounds kind of like a throttle body spacer...

I really doubt it will make any sort of noticeable difference in gas mileage or power. Worth a try I guess tho. And it looks cooler, more power to ya'.

1. its not really a free mod... someone had to buy a washer/s or spacer at some point.. so there was money spent.
2. you might get a little bit more air to go into the scoop, but then you are messing with the aerodymanics and causing drag... so in turn even if you got 1/2 a pony you might really be losing 1-1 1/2 from the drag you created.
Just my .02 cents.

the drag will not even come close to making a difference. I would do it if it looked cooler, but I definitely wouldnt expect anything to happen performance wise.

Too bad it'll never show up on a dyno... you have to be moving to test it.

sometimes you gotta wash a thick ***.

I doubt the drag will be affected in any measureable way.

So to recap: it could give you a HP increase, but not even close to something that would be noticed. It would incrase your aerodynamic drag, but not even close to enough to be noticed. BUT, it might look a little bit cooler and that might be worth the cost of a thick *** washer (lol).
