Hey man, bring your car and your 7k to my mechanic, and you'll leave there with a supercharged 2v. Stay away from delers, an oil change cost 100 bucks. Find yourself a trusty mech and go from there.

SHM... id search around and see others expirences
i picked up my shortblock from Ford Performance Solutions (f-p-s.com) for around that price. i've seen 2 fps built motors locally, both running constant deep 10's all day long on drag radials. FPS's (name withheld by pdk) knows his stuff and is top notch. he got me a mcleod street twin for about 25% Off what others wanted for it plus a great price on a forged shortblock
only other places i'd really look into getting a built motor is from vt or mph, but $$$$$$
again your location might help find a good reliable builder near you for a forged shortblock

well these are my options, if i can find an engine and get it put in for under 3500 then i can keep the stang, or trade it in, see how much i can get for it and get a 2002 ws6 Trans am w/ 20k on it for 14995, should i keep the stang or go wit the ls1

Go to different shops and price out an engine swap. They'll all charge different amounts and you could probably save thousands. It'll be really hard to sell a rolling chasis anyway since there is a very small market for cars that need an engine rebuild. Figure out all of the particulars before you go in any direction since there are always small details and odds and ends which could add up to hundreds of $$

I beat the hell out of mine and it runs like a champ with no leaks, misses, etc. If you're an idiot and you get a kick out of pegging the rev limiter every chance you get, how can you possibly be surprised when the motor tells you to go f- yourself? With any motor?

I've just seen sooo many tales of these motors busting for no descent reason.. both here and first hand from friends who have had 4.6's... they have a horrible track record end of story.

I raced mine here and there at light but i never really beat the hell out of it, i drove it normally most of the time, only used the best of oil, best gas, and then that happens, this is why im hesitant to buy another 4.6L unless its a cobra, or just a cobra motor...
I still dont know if im going to buy a new car or just rebuild mine, the only problem im having with the rebuild is that my car already has 95k on it, that means that my suspesnsion, brakes, clutch, tranny are starting to wear (acording to the dealership) so im thinking im going to buy a car with 60k or less on it with a warranty..
