Default gas milage

ok heres the thing.... i fill up 87.... by the time my tank "empty" light turns on... i have driven about 150 miles... so this means i get 150 miles to the tank.... now , my question is , is there something wrong with my car or does pushing the pedal to the floor really take a s**t on your ga smilage... because the thing is i sometimes just gas the s**t out of my car ... does gasing the car really kill the gas milage or is something wrong?

Yep ...have to agree with No2Junkie...you play ...you pay. Gas, wearing on parts, but hey! Thats what its for right? I mean do want a car for show or one that goes?

Agood quote is " If you have to ask how much a Rolls is...you can't afford it." I would say the same on a Mustang GT with a twist, "If you have to ask about gas mileage, it's not fast enough!" HAHAHAHA
I feel lucky actually. Had a '68 SS Camaro once, 396 w/427 heads, got 12 miles to gallon tops! At least I am getting around 20 with my 03 Stang.

Seriously, the further you press that pedal, the more gas goes into the engine.

Yeah pressing the metal can swallow fuel. Do this: fill the tank and shift for a week no higher than 2000rpm. I guarantee you'll get 270-300 for that tank. I usually average 280 miles a tank with a few full throttle pulls avery week; can't help myself LOL. but these cars can vary grwatly with mileage; I've seen as low as a 200 mile tank of gas city and as high as a 375 mile tank of gas on a roadtrip.

It's funny, now that I've been modding my car you can see the fuel guage move closer, & closer to 'E' if my foot is feeling heavy on a particular day. I can't wait for all this #$%@ing snow to melt, & weather to break. I've not driven my car in 6wks.

I've gotten as high as 320mpg around town trying to see how far I could stretch it. I've never taken it on a road trip, so I don't know how far that'd go, & I've gotten as low as 150mpg as well, so nope...no problem w/the car...just your foot

Short shift, and if you drive around town, get some 4.10 gears.

Start in 2nd and skip right to 5th!!!!!!

I start in 1st, skip 2nd, shift to 3rd & then 5th. Get's me damn near 300 mpg everytime.

When I beat on her, 220 is the best I can do.
