I had 4.10's when i went to the track. I believe i might have been in the 4K range when i crossed the 1320 line.

BUt, even if this were a concern, taller tires takes away some gear, so you could have 4.30's on the street, and get taller tires to bring you back to a more managable ratio for the track.

I sometimes wish i'd gone 4.30's but i was scared of 4.10's because of people telling you what you were told before you came here, that 3.73's are best.

Now I am reconsidering. But I will just be using the car to cruise around not go to the track and race. I would like to be able to do 70 and not have the tach at 2600 or above. With 4.10's is 1st gear not really useable?

yea you just have to shift at a higher rpm or shift quicker ive driven them with both 3.73 and 4.10s, go with 4.10s, Is the car your DD? if it is definately go with 4.10s, even if its not you should go with 4.10s though

With 4.10's in a quater, do you ever reach 5th gear?

Obviously you don't understand how gears effect your ET. It's taking your car even longer to get through each gear and ultimately accellerating slower, tell me the sense in making your post about that? They are a worthless gear. If you went to 4.10's you'd wipe .3-4 tenths off your ET.

I don't have gears yet but I'll tell you that I plan on getting a Centrifugal type Supercharger for my car and I'll be getting 4.10s as my next mod.

If you still want a decent highway I'd reccommend a slightly taller gear than 4.10's

But you should also consider what your plans are down the line. If you plan on making good power and only running a 26" tire at the track, you'll be spinning that engine quite high.
Example, I'm only making around 370at the wheels, and with my 4.10s and a 26" tire I'm forced to spin the engine 1100rpms passed my peak to stay in fourth. And I'm only trapping at 116.
They're a very fun gear if you do minimal highway driving, i'll give it that.
But if you are just cruising and want to conserve gas on the highway, you'll be forced to be doing the speed limit to stay in manageable rpms.
On the highway I like to cruise around 80, and it's quite the bitch with the 4.10's considering today's gas prices.
