Rear gears
So I have done you basic mods cai, and cat back but now I am thinking of gears. The stock ratio I think is too low so I am thinking of going with 3.73. I have a manual transmission and I have heard that this is the best bet. Now a few questions, how hard is this to do (change the gears) my buddies are truck junkies but Im not sure if they have ever changeg rear end gears. Also my wife father is a heavy machine mechanic but Im not sure he has any experince doing it. When I do this if I do this what else should I replace while Im in there? My car has just clocked 100k but these were all long trip highway miles. I have heard the bearings are a must. Any info would be appreciated!

RE: Rear gears
Many people are going to tell you to get 4.10's, but you should get a bearing kit while you are doing it. Some good differentail fluid as well. To change swap the gears out is not as hard as they say, you just need the right tools to do it correctly. If I had a press and a dialer, I would have done my own gears.

RE: Rear gears
when changing the gears, factory says add synthetic fluid, but i would run regular fluid for at least 500 miles. this gives the gears a chance to heat up, which is a good thing at first. after the 500-1000 miles add synthetic.
