Default What you guys think?

So i found a nice GT on autotrader.com and which the owner lives only 20 miles away. He's selling it for 17k and has done some good amount of modifications so what you guys think...

Modifications Include: H-Pipe w/out cats, 2 = pipe out Flowmaster exhaust Steada underdrive pullies--Powder coated Steada timing adjuster K&N Intake system w/filter Steada grill delete Steada MIL eliminators Vogtland sport springs Tri-AX short-throw shifter Auto-meter air fuel gage Steada 180 degree thermostat FRPP 4.10 gears

much of a horsepower gain? and also could i add cats? I like in virginia and i believe they are pretty heavy on the emissions and all that gravy to pass inspection

Its not a bad place to start, but I wouldn't pay any extra for the mods, espcially if you plan on having to add a midpipe with cats.

What year?? How many miles?? Like I said, don't pay any more for the car than you normally would (because of the mods). Unless you get really crazy mods arn't worth much.

I think he's a little high. I am with 2000 on this one. For minor bolt ons, I wouldn't pay over book for it.

Go to NADA and see if he is in the right ballpark as to price and Ecstacy is doing free carfaxes. Take advantage of that unless you know the guy is the original owner.

Mods, when not abused, actually increase the effiency of the car and actually cause less wear and tear on the engine.

EDIT: im gonna go out on a limb here and say i can almost guarantee he has been to the track or has abused the car due to the fact he's selling it with 39,000.. yes i could be wrong sure he might just not want it anymore or gas is to pricey but.. with a licenseplate like "CRAZYGT" you can only wonder...
