Default Stage 1 guys help

I'm almost through with bolt-ons, but not happy with performance. I'm about to die to get some cams in my car, but I can't decide which one to get. I'm looking at the VT stage 1 and stage 2. I want the stage 1, but i want to make sure that I can get the "cammed" sound out of my engine. Does anybody have a video or sound recording with this cam or one similar??? Thanks for the input.

Also how hard is it to actually change cams? Is it something I can do myself, or do I need to spend $500 and have the car in a mechanic's shop for 2 weeks? BTW I've done all of my mods so far myself.

itll be more than $500 you have to pull everything off the front of the car. EVERYTHING. so you can remove the timing cover. i think you can leave the water pump on. but while your at it spend $250 and get an electric water pump. this will free about 15-17 hp. then you have to take out the old cams and put the new ones in exactly as you had it before. then reassemble. your lookin at a $1500 job + the cost of cams + the cost of new valvetrain parts if needed

Awesome sound. Is it really $1500?? Gah thats a lot more than I thought. The VT cams are almost $600 alone.

yeah its a big job. your better off doing heads at the same time. its just easier. you still have to remove everything and get the timing cover off but at least you wont have to do it again down the line when you decide you want heads. do you have LT headers already? you might want to consider those.
