well my 98 gt ive have had mine at 160 and starting to redline soo i donno where they actually shut off at

Sorry but a near stock NON-PI GT will not do 140MPH + Period.
There was two road tests in 96-98 where top speed was part of the test. Even when the used duct tape to make the front end more aerodynamic it still wouldn't do more than 136mph.
Upgrading gears won't do jack squat either 215HP is the limiting factor.
A stock 99-04 GT might pull off 150mph on a good day.
Speedometers become slightly inaccurate at higher speeds but some of your must be way off.

And your Cobalt will clear it easy, right?
I don't see how the 215HP would be the limiting factor. My brother pulled off 135MPH on the Autobahn in his 02 Celica GTand had just a little bit left to go when he backed off. Granted there is a bit of a weight difference, but with the little bit more horsepower over the 180HP Celica GT...the Mustang GT isn't that far from seeing 140 if there is enough road.

ehh im not too sure....but im almost 95% sure u cant get that car to climb that high. I have a 98 gt and iv been about 115-20 and it wasnt climbing much more.....if i had to guess mabee max 130? if even thats pushung it...not too too sure....but i dont thin 150.....
