Hey guys and gals hows it goin? I just joined this forum because i just got my hands on a beautiful black 96 mustang gt!!! I already have some 18 inch konig villans with nitto tires, custom 3inch catback exhaust, trickflow elbow, 75mm throttle body, bbk cold air intake, walbro 255 fuel pump, and an ecu flash from ford performance. My problem is this. While at idel my car sounds perfectly fine, but when im accelerating it makes a weird squeking noise from the middle or front of the car. It squeeks pretty bad but only when the pedal is being pushed. The noise is also consistant with how fast the car is accelerating. The harder i push on the gas the faster it gets. The less i push on the gas the slower it gets. Also not to mention it doesnt do it in reverse. Its so annoying!! Any info on what it might or what it is will be very apperciated. I'm doing great, thanks for asking. Sounds like you have a squeeky belt there. Take a look at it and see if it is tight. Also inspect your pulley tensior for any lateral movement (towards the front bumper and towards the rear of the car) <----- You don't want any of that. You may need to replace your pulley tensioner.

Take a bar of soap and let it run on the belt. If it stops, then it's the belt. Buy a new one.

Thanks guys its really weird. I also should mention that when i try to launch the car it sound like somethings clunking or making a LOUD squeek. Alot of people have been telling me that it might be my throw out bearing

i also have a sqeek, its not the usual belt squeal though, it sounds like its coming from one of the pullies. it only happens on a cold start, after a minute or two its gone....i've just learned to live with it

So i tried the soap thing and the noise is still there. Any clues to what it might be? Not to mention it sounds like its coming from the tranny area
