Default Help me hook it up!!

Hello everybody, new girl here, i have a 98 mustang Gt convertible, so far i have 4:10 gears, locked rear end, upper and lower intake, CAI and a prochamber into dual flows with turn downs. What can do for the automatic transmission? And how will it sound if i take that prochamber out and run straight into my flows? Also i would love any suggestions you can guys can give to start adding some more get up and go without costing me an arm and a leg right now. Thanks

U can always get a hammer shifter for the tranny. Thats what i did for my car. They run about 199 and they fit the stock console

do not get rid of the midpipe, you need it to balance your exhaust. the best thing to do for your auto tranny is to get a tuner (xcal II or diablo predator) to firm the shifts and adjust shift points. it'll cost around $400 for it. other options for you are a shift kit (similar to what the tuner will do) and a converter, which will allow you to launch your car at a higher rpm than you currently can.

edit: if you get the shift kit, also get a tranny cooler. heat = tranny death

Straight pipes sound like crap and they also hurt performance.

Look into some underdrive pulleys. Unless you want to spend the big bucks for headers or a PI swap, you are just about at the limit for 'worth your money mods'

Go for a tuner or a shift kit, or consider the PI swap....

Look on www.SummitRacing.com for a Trans-go shift kit and a Transmission cooler. After that I think you should consider a high stall torque convertor. I'll be tossing a 2800 stall on my 97 GT when I get my tax return
