i dont know if its just me, but what is the point of spending 250+ on a plenum and whatever of a intake and only get like 5WHP... seems like a waste of money for little HP... if i am wrong please correct me.
consider yourself corrected
which part are you correcting? The 5 hp part or the waste of money part? please elaborate.

Oh I was mainly being a smart ***. But I wouldnt say it was a waste of money. I mean 300bucks for 5hp = $60/hp. So if all you are considering is how much hp it will give a stock mustang, then yea it might not be worth it. But it will also act as a supporting mod for cams, blowers, etc, and will increase the gains from those type of mods. Also, it is something cool to show off when you pop the hood and want to show off. It also gives better throttle response... So all in all, I would hardly call it worthless....

Then keep your car stock if you are going to complain about wanting more horsepower.

you dont pay 250+ for a plenum. you pay 250+ for the whistle the plenum makes.

Blue oval industries, here in VA, offers them on E-bay for $215 plus shipping. I live in Va, drove over on a Saturday, and picked it up. I got out of the shipping, but had to pay VA sales tax. BTW, the polished unit was only $15. dollars more. I also got the FRPP Bullitt suspension from him for $380. If you buy it on E-bay, the shipping is a killer at $60. I love the way my car smokes through corners now, it's a dramatic improvement, I can't wait to put on my panhard bar this weekend. I'm looking for the whole package, acceleration and cornering!

No one ever said HP was cheap, it sure wasn't when I was a kid too! But remember every little bit adds up. Do a before and after, see how much moisture cloud your car puts out (on a cold morning) when it is hot after an intake and exhaust upgrade. That will give you a clue about how much flow you gained. (at idle) I was shocked!

I agree... if you have plans on a cam and/or blower or something big like that a plenum and intake makes since for future big power gains. But most these guys on here do it and have no plans/money for the big picture... I just wanted to shed light on the opposite side of the subject so that people don’t run out and buy one and waste their money and time. Some people will agree and some won’t and that isn’t what I am trying to get at. I’m just trying to help out people like myself.

GTNAZ,
I agree, but these cars feel like they are breathing through a stuffed nose stock. I had a point of comparison, my wife's Bullitt. My car revved NOTHING like hers. The throttle response on that engine, for NA is awesome. I actually crawled under the two cars and checked the rear axle ratios, I thought hers was steeper. Any money spent on through put on GT cars, either end is money well spent, that is, if you want PI.
