Default why mustang?

hey guys. i read the post the other day from the guy wanting to buy a new car. there was a poll on which cars would you vote for: trans am, camaro, etc. anyway, why did YOU guys buy your mustang? fact is, the f-body 's are faster right out of the box. me, i got mine because of several reasons: the mustang sound, true dual exhaust, huge aftermarket for parts. i noticed there were several people who would like to get an f-body. i think the camaro ss & t/a ram-air ws6 are down right evil looking. fast as hell. but, i've had a 1997 camaro 3.8 v6 5 spd that wasn't all bad. it sounded better starting up than a z28 i started one time. so, with having to add more bolt-ons to the mustang to get equal performance to an f-body, i ask you this: why did you pick mustang? don't get me wrong, the next car i get will be another mustang. so, why mustang?

I chose the a Mustang over an F-Body because I have always loved them. I also think they are one of the coolest lookin cars on the road. Yea camaros and T/As might be fast, but they look like ***. Plus I got my Mustang for less than it would have cost to get an ls1 with the same amount of miles...

all the f-bodies that I saw in my area with less than 20K miles had a price tage above $18,000, which is what I paid for the stang after taxes and registration

I got a mustang cause I have always liked them (dream car). Mustangs have always been associated with being classic. Dont get me wrong I like Camaros and Firebirds as well. But there is something special about saying that you own a mustang. Im a big Muscle car guy so I hope some day to own a Camaro as well. Plus I wanted a mustang that I would keep for a long time. I think mustangs look better as time goes on. It will be a nice car to have in 15 more years. You just cant beat the sound of a v8 mustang!

I just like the look of stangs. I like the history. And I like most of the owners. So what if I'm slower then an LS1? He's got 350 ci and I got 281, I actually think I'm not doing terrible considering.

I got a mustang because when I was looking for a car, two of myfriends took me for a ride in their cars, two mustangs. A GT and a V6. I was instantly hooked on them from the feel, sound, etc. I bought one in about a montha nd a half and havent looked back since. By the way, that was just under two years ago.

Exactly, F-bodies are extremely ugly. Mustangs are one of the easier cars to mod and they looks gorgeous on the road. They are easily one of the most recognized muscle cars and anyone you talk to will say that they are extremely unique and they love them... Even non-owners =)

A guy I work with the other day said to me, "I just love the way those things rumble, its such a unique sound, like nothing else... They look incredible too." - And that was the owner of a modded mazda. (ewww) Good guy though =)
