My 99 Contour SVT, is about the same as a 97 Mustang GT, in a straight line, put I can smoke them in the curves and the interior of my SVT is way better then a GT.

I raced one of those SVT Contour's when I was only running a CAI, O/R H (W/O MIL's) and blown out Flows (No backpressure) and destroyed it. So from experience I'd like to say your Contour isn't like a 97 GT and I love seeing family sedan's taking corners like their some amazing street car too, puts a smile on my face on a bad day, lol...
