whats the advantages of the 5.4 over the 4.6? after his swap it didnt sound like he gained any power after all of that trouble

He didn't gain that much overall hp, however his power curve was much smoother. Like he was making peak hp at an earlier rpm and maintaining that hp throught the rpm range.

i rebuilt it so it total cost with the hood, tune and everything about $3000. i know i know i could have gotten a blower or something but i didn't want to put a blower on a 134000 mile motor. if i were to get a shorter runner intake manifold and some cams it would be a world of difrence. the probalem wiht the 2V 5.4 is that its hard to get 18% more air through the same heads that the 4.6 has trouble flowing. and the 5.4 has really long runners on the intake so the helps woth torgue. if you get a intake made you will lose about 10 torque down low but you will gain about 25RWHP higher.
