i need help with something....
 

i think i want to get some 3.73's because im not sure what other direction to go......so i was wonderin if you could help by telling me how much this would be and if their are anycompanies that could do it for me. And one question, do gears help with horsepower or do they just direct the horse power differently?

Gears do not add or decrease horsepower, they just affect how the horsepower is used.

When you buy gears, you'll also need an installation kit to do it properly. New fluids (and adding Lucas synthetic is recommended, I'm told.) Depending on where you are, prices range from $200 to as much as $800 for the install. The key is that whoever does it must know what they are doing. Here in MD, I was quoted $200, but in Cali, I've heard some say as much as $800. That seems like way too much, but that's Cali for you.

I bought my gears off the internet (motive 3.90), and they were I think 170.00 and the install was 200.00 for me... There are a lot of places you can buy gears, but I would get Ford Racing, but if you want to save some money - my motive gears have been really nice... but don't skip out on the install, take it to someone that has a lot of experiance, the last thing you want is that terrible gear whine..

o theyd do it...but I recomend a seed shop that actually lists rear end gear install as a primary skill

Any ACTUAL shop should be able to put the gears in. Do not go to a Pep boys, I wouldn't trust them with that at all.
